From
the mountain peaks of Machu Picchu to gold mines two miles
below the soil of South Africa, Rich Confalone has photographed
documentaries in amazing locations all over the world for
a wide range of television networks.
With
a background deeply rooted in motion picture film, Rich offers
to any production an invaluable sense of the aesthetic, along
with the technical know-how needed to achieve any task. The
ability to assimilate, go unnoticed, and capture a moment
in time makes for great documentary film -- and that is what
Rich strives for. His films have focused on historical journeys,
scientific discovery and cultural exploration.
More
than 15 years of documentary film experience enable Rich to
deliver beautiful images in all formats, from Super 16 film
to high definition cinematography. Over the years, he has
partnered with documentary film's most talented producers
and technicians. Since 1997, he has worked regularly with
National Geographic Television and the Discovery Channel.
However, Rich's work is not limited to documentary -- he has
also worked on commercials for companies such as FedEx, music
videos for Sony and RCA, and high-end industrial campaigns
for Microsoft.
In
the past few years, Rich has established himself as a cinematographer
at the forefront of High Definition (HD) Production, through
his work for Discovery HD Theater, The History Channel and
National Geographic Television. Recently, Rich acquired the
Panasonic Varicam HD camera, which allows him to offer his
clients state-of-the-art high definition images.
Comfortable
in any environment, creative, and a team player with a strong
work ethic, Rich delivers more than just great visuals at
the end of a shoot - he is an energetic and positive addition
to any crew, and a dynamic storyteller.
